چکیده
Research was conducted to determine the physiological effect of substituting 5% of maize starch with cellulose, inulin and oligofructose in the diet of rats. The feeding of cellulose and fructans did not influence the food intake and weight gains of animals. The addition of oligofructose and inulin induced an enlargement of the caecum (wall and digesta). Dry matter and pH of caecal digesta were significantly decreased in rats receiving fructan preparations compared to the cellulose and starch groups. Inulin and oligofructose caused a significant increase in the SCFA content produced in the whole caecum (calculated per 100 g BW). Cellulose as well as fructans decreased the ammonia concentration in the caecal digesta compared to control rats. The diet composition did not have a significant influence on the concentration of glucose, triglycerides and total cholesterol in the serum of rats. Compared to the control and cellulose, the investigated fructans were very efficient by inducing beneficial changes in the functioning of the caecal ecosystem.

Chemical Characteristics, and Effect of Inulin Extracted from Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) Root on Biochemical Properties of Synbiotic Yogurt at the End of Fermentation
The aim of this study was to produce synbiotic yogurt using different inulin levels (0, 1 and 2%) and probiotic bacteria. Inulin in two forms commercial and extracted from artichoke root was prepared, and chemical and sensory evaluation were performed. The results of inulin analysis showed that pH, dry matter, degree of polymerization, purity, appearance and taste for the inulin extracted f...

Corn stalk can be used as an alternative non-wood raw material to produce cellulosic dissolving grade pulp. In this work, the potential of corn stalk in the production of dissolving pulp (alpha-cellulose) was investigated. It was collect ed from a corn stalk farm of Kermanshah, Iran. The sequences of experimental work were: water and acid prehydrolysis at 160˚C for 30min, followed by Kraft pulp...

This paper describes the aging behavior of the oil impregnated repulped cellulose and compares it with the aging behavior of the oil impregnated standard cellulose. In order to evaluate the reliability of using repulped cellulose in transformers, the accelerated aging process was applied to both types of cellulose by increasing the temperature to 150 °C and their aging behavior was studied and ...
متن کاملTHE EFFECT OF ALUMINUM ON BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS RELATED TO BONE METABOLISM. A MODEL STUDY OF HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS
The influence of aluminum on some serum parameters related to bone metabolism has been investigated by daily administration of aluminum over different periods of time. Daily administration of aluminum (1 mg/kg BW) for 20 or 50 days elevated serum phosphorous concentration by 16 percent and had no significant effect on serum calcium level. When aluminum was injected as a complex with citric...
